Headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, Ergon, Inc., and its consolidated subsidiaries are built on a foundation of petroleum-related enterprises begun in 1954 by its Chairman, Leslie B. Lampton. Starting as a petroleum retailer with only two employees, Ergon has evolved into a network of market-leading companies employing nearly 3,000 people.

Ergon operates as a sophisticated crude oil processor, transporter and marketer of refined products. It also functions as a producer and marketer of specialty asphalt products, as well as an oil and gas explorer and real estate developer. In addition, Ergon manufactures state-of-the-art industrial computer products and road maintenance products and equipment.

The Company’s roots are in the petroleum industry service areas, including trucking and propane distribution, marine transportation and petroleum marketing services. Through acquisitions and from merging other company operations into a base of entities that would become Ergon subsidiaries, including ventures in refining, terminaling, asphalt marketing, mid-river operations, exploration, computer technology, maintenance support and real estate, we have moved forward to become a well-diversified portfolio of companies.

Ergon, Inc. Announces Expansion in the Appalachian Region

Jackson, MS – Ergon, Inc., announced today the expansion of its subsidiary facilities and operations within the Appalachian Basin. The expansion will enable Ergon companies to handle increased liquid production as drilling increases throughout the Marcellus and Utica Shale areas.

Ergon’s refinery in Newell, West Virginia; and their terminal facilities in Magnolia and Marietta, Ohio will add additional storage tanks and infrastructure for an increase in overall storage capacity. Construction at these locations is expected to begin during the second quarter of 2012 and be completed first quarter 2013.

In addition, Ergon’s midstream companies (Magnolia Marine Transport Company, Ergon Trucking, Inc., Ergon – West Virginia, Inc., and Ergon Oil Purchasing, Inc.) will expand their logistics capabilities, adding assets that will increase their ability to gather and transport liquids throughout the eastern United States. With a larger footprint and amplified capacity, Ergon’s subsidiaries expect to build on the services they have provided in the region for over 15 years.

Ergon, Inc. Announces Agreement to Sell Ownership Interest in Lion Oil Company

Ergon, Inc., announced today that it has entered into an agreement to sell its 53.67% ownership interest in Lion Oil Company (“Lion”) to Delek US Holdings, Inc. (“Delek”), a publicly traded company and an existing shareholder of Lion. Upon the closing of the transaction during the second quarter 2011, subject to customary closing conditions, Lion will transfer, among other things, its 100% ownership interest in Paline Pipeline Company to Ergon.
