Jackson, MS -- February 3, 2010 -- Ergon Inc., announces the appointment of Jimmy Rasco as Vice President – Global Base Oil Technology.
Jimmy has been a significant asset to Ergon for 15 years, and brings over 35 years of petroleum refining experience to the position. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Alcorn State University, and worked previously at Amerada Hess for 20 years. In 1994, Jimmy joined Ergon Refining, Inc. and served as Manager of Technical Service for 12 years. He developed and managed the Laboratory and Technical Services during Ergon’s growth from a primarily North American based organization to an international provider of base oil products. In 2004, he became Vice President of Product Services and ensured the quality and development of naphthenic and paraffinic base oils. In his new role as Vice President – Global Base Oil Technology, Jimmy will be responsible for Global Product Support and Technical Marketing of the naphthenic and paraffinic base oils.
“Jimmy’s grasp of not only the technical side of base oil refining, but the marketing component makes this move a natural and incredibly beneficial transition,” stated Ed Hudgins, Senior Vice President – Ergon Petroleum Specialties Marketing Division.
