Diversified Technology, Inc., (DTI) entered the embedded computer product market in the early 1970s as a pioneer in single computer boards and passive backplane computer systems. Since then, DTI has expanded into various technological markets.

When DTI entered the embedded computer product industry, it was an emerging marketplace. Since then, DTI has been through evolutions and revolutions in the embedded computing industry. Certified as an ISO 9001 research, development, design and manufacturing facility, and a recognized front-runner in industry advancements, DTI designs and manufactures leading-edge computer processor boards, ethernet switching products and embedded systems for modular computing.

Working with clients to incorporate specific-use features into standard and custom platforms, DTI’s systems are utilized by the communication industry in telecommunication and media gateways, VoIP servers and wireline/wireless networks. Commercial applications include industrial automation, test and measurement, medical computing and semiconductor processing. The military utilizes DTI’s embedded products for ruggedized computing and mobile solutions.

Today, DTI is concentrating on three primary business segments:

Embedded Computing – DTI has an extensive history of computing design and manufacturing experience with standardized form factors such as AdvancedTCA, CompactPCI, COM Express, PCI, PCI Express and ETX. Custom computing board form factors and integrated systems, designed to a customer’s unique application, are also a major component of DTI’s Embedded Computing segment.

Mobile Power Electronics – DTI has developed On-Board Vehicle Power (OBVP) systems for the military in a small, water-tight system that offers up to 10kW of tactical power. These systems are also targeted for use by first responders in the wake of natural disasters and relief efforts where conventional power is unavailable due to infrastructure damage.

Small Wind Power – Addressing the needs of the growing renewable energy market, DTI has developed 6kW and 12kW inverter systems for use in converting power taken from small wind turbines to a smooth, manageable current that can be tied directly to an existing residential utility grid. DTI will utilize these developments in emerging designs to offer wind power inverter systems for light industrial applications and increased residential power demands.
